Look for the Snowman Shape in Art

Look for the snowman shape in art. Examine your own drawings and look for the snowman shape in your art. Drawing is foundational to drawing. When drawing, you need to use lots of lines. Lines touch and close to make shapes. Apply color to develop the picture. As a result of all my drawing, I have found is that snowman shape kept popping up. How has the snowman shape appeared on many of my drawings? So lets take a look. And then see if you see the same thing in your drawings or other artists drawings.

As I teach students, I have discovered in my step-by-step direct drawings that relating the snowman shape to the steps has helped with personal success. Some time ago I taught how to draw bunny rabbits. It was the bunny rabbits that sparked this concept. Then I taught chicks, frogs, and spiders. All resulted in the use of the snowman shapes foundation. Now when looking for the snowman shape in art, I am talking about the two circles stacked on top of each other.

Look at the snowman shape and how it is the foundation for the drawing. After drawing the two circles, you add more lines to develop it into the chick. Accordingly, two smaller circles drawn on top develop a frog. Lastly, turning the snowman shape leads to a different direction for excitement. The creepy, hairy, scary spider has added lines for texture and fun.
